Des Godson

Head of South East Asia

Des is responsible for EEA’s investment activities in South East Asia where he is focussed on clean energy investments and CER origination. He is currently acting as Chairman of Asia Biogas Singapore and has been overseeing a major restructuring of the group. He is also TEP’s representative on the management board of EWG Slupsk, a 320MW wind farm under development in Poland. He joined EEA in 2005 and established its business in China, creating a team which originated a significant CER portfolio with over 40 projects now registered.

Prior to joining EEA Des worked at KPMG with a range of blue chip clients to assist them in the development of corporate wide greenhouse gas strategies and programs, including CDM project development. He was technical adviser on a number of transaction due diligence engagements for global companies. As a member of KPMG Corporate Finance’s utilities team, Des advised on valuation and cashflow implications of the ROC and EU ETS markets.

Prior to joining KPMG Des held a climate change research post at Auckland University. He subsequently worked for two years as a policy analyst for a renewable energy trade association in London. Des holds an MSc in Environmental Assessment and Evaluation from the London School of Economics and an honours degree in Natural Sciences from Trinity College Dublin.
